Flammable Gas Detectors
Infrared Gas Detection
Status Scientific Controls offer the following types of Infrared Flammable gas detectors:-
- Flameproof Fixed Detectors - Hazardous Area Certified.
- Pellistor Replacement Fixed Detectors - Hazardous Area Certified.
- Intrinsically Safe Fixed Detectors - Hazardous Area Certified.
- Portable Detectors - Hazardous Area Certified.
All of the above detectors can be used for the detection of a wide range of Hydrocarbon gases such as Butane, Ethane, Ethanol, Ethylene, Ethylene Dioxide, Hexane, Methane, Methyl Bromide, Pentane, Propane and Propylene (Propene).
The detectors are normally factory calibrated to a specific gas type e.g. Methane. They will however respond to other Hydrocarbon gases and may therefore give a lower of higher reading of the true concentration of any other hydrocarbon gas. Status Scientific Controls can offer advice on hydrocarbon gas cross-senstivities.
Please Note - Infrared Gas Detectors cannot be used for the detection of Hydrogen gas.
Flameproof Fixed Detectors - Hazardous Area Certified
Type FGD10 Infrared Flammable Gas Detectors
The series comprises detectors with or without a window and digital display.
They are available for detection of the following flammable gas types (most other flammable gas types are also available upon request) - follow the links below for further information:-
Pellistor Replacement Fixed Detectors - Hazardous Area Certified
Type FGD5/6-IR Infrared Flammable Gas Detectors
The FGD5/6-IR is a direct replacement for existing pellistor-type Flammable (Hydrocarbon) gas detector heads typically used within the oil and gas industry.
Intrinsically Safe Fixed Detectors - Hazardous Area Certified
Type FGD3 Infrared Flammable Gas Detectors
The FGD3 series gas detectors are powered from an intrinsically safe dc power supply and provide an industry standard 4 to 20mA output signal.
They are normally supplied for the detection of the Methane but may be pre-calibrated to other flammable gas types upon request.
Portable Detectors - Hazardous Area Certified.
Type PGD3-IR Gas Detectors
The PGD3-IR is an intrinsically safe portable multi-gas instrument for use in Group IIC potentially explosive atmospheres. The instrument is intended to be used for the protection of personnel entering or working in an environment where a gas hazard may, or is known to exist. The instrument produces both an audible and visual alarms if any of the monitored gas levels fall outside pre-set limits. It can be fitted with up to 4 gas sensors in various combinations of flammable (via infrared), toxic (including carbon dioxide via infrared) and oxygen to provide simultaneous monitoring of each gas. The data logging facilities available within the instrument allow the exposure levels for each gas to be stored for downloading to a personal computer at the end of the work period. The instrument also automatically calculates the STEL and LTEL values for each gas as required by the COSHH regulations in the United Kingdom. Pumped versions are available at additional cost.
